After many years of occupation by Agatha Christie’s publishing company the ground floor of this property was in need of change.
The new owner and their new managing agent approached us to look into what could be done.
They wanted something fresh, crisp and they wanted it fast.
We developed a deliverable scheme that brought multiple improvements and reduced the project turnaround time.
We developed new air and lighting systems which are slimline, energy efficient and adaptable.
Below these services we designed a series of floating plasterboard rafts. These are plain and uncluttered ready to take tenant’s partitions.
The new fit out unlocks hidden benefits for the health and wellbeing of future occupants.
The efficient new systems generate far less noise.
The slimline systems also allowed us to increase the ceiling height from 2920mm to 3760mm. This brings a 25% increase in daylight.
The large windows give generous views into the adjacent gardens further connecting city workers with circadian rhythms and life outside.
Where services will need adapting and maintaining in the future we installed a removable metal slat system.
The black painted recesses are easily accessible to hide new services when they need to be added in the future.
“We found the team at M&C to be very professional when working with them on a challenging commercial brief.
They provided several creative options to exploit the key features of the building and with their great attention to detail we were able to deliver the Client a very successful space within a strict budget.
We would have no hesitation in recommending their services and hope to be able to work with them again in the future.”
James Coleman, Project Management, TPM RED
We worked collaboratively with TPM as the client’s managing agent and Cumberland Group as the contractor. It was fast, happy, polite and a very neat construction site all the way through.
We have also offered an additional fit out package of furniture and fittings once the space is let.
