NB Studio

This project has an interesting brief, the client decided to downsize in order to create a more appropriately sized office for their team. This brought about a clear set of goals, to reduce overheads, increase energy efficiency, keep office furniture to a minimum and to create a collaborative working environment where quality not quantity is valued.

Despite being smaller, the studio is lined with vitsoe shelves providing plenty of storage. The main open plan area is separated from the meeting space by a large glazed partition. This transparency reflects the openness within the company. Owing to the poor quality lighting within their old premises, lighting was a key concern. The new office have increased lighting with bespoke lampshades which reflect dappled light around the ceiling.

With a double height ceiling, increasing energy efficiency was an important part of the challenge. In order to do this, HeraDesign, a natural pressed wood fibre insulation lines the ceiling, creating a textured effect which interacts with the light echoing the playful nature of the brand.
