Very Good & Proper

Alex Mowat saw the potential for a new wine rack design, inspired by a secret technique by skilled cellarmen. It involved the accurate spacing of small timber wedges to stack their bottles.

After many trials, drawings and prototypes, plus a little broken glass, he discovered the secret dimension and used it to design a new wine rack.

The wine rack is available from Very Good and Proper’s online shop, at Didi and Franc in Kennington and Berry Bros. & Rudd in Pall Mall.

The new rack has a rippled timber base cut to the special dimension that suits all bottle sizes. It fits into small corners, whilst also allowing you to create large walls of wine.

The rack’s design means that everyone can use this technique and most importantly you will not end up with broken glass and wine all over the floor.

I can thoroughly recommend. My double stack is still perfect one year on. Simple, functional, and a pleasure to use.
